Introducing.... Mr. Winkle!

Now, y'all know that I haven't ever had a hamster at the Hamster House named Mr. Winkle. I have had hamsters named Wilhelm and Spiderpig and Tofurkey and Clark Gable. But not Mr. Winkle.

Until now! A hamster whom I had named Margaret was adopted and renamed Mr. Winkle, and as you can see from the photos below, Mr. Winkle is LIVIN LARGE. Mr. Winkle changes his house around, and has a giant play pen, and is a super genius who figured out to escape from his cage!

The SUPER AMAZING fancy condo apartment of Mr. Winkle!

Don't you wish you had this playground?

Ines and Mr. Winkle, cutest couple ever!

So, maybe within a week, I will update the Hamster House website and will post pictures of adoptable hamsters again, what do you think? The epic battle between me and the internet shall soon come to a close! Happy weekend, Mr. Winkle!

Boo!

I got in this radical looking hamster, whom I named Boo, a couple of months ago. Boo was a bit older, and between that and his melange of black, brown and grey fluffy hair, he wasn't having a lot of luck in the "getting adopted" department.

Until, that is, Goldie (a neighbor in upper Manhattan) walked into the Hamster House. Goldie and Boo fell in love at first sight. Similar hair, similar kick-butt personalities... it was meant to be!

And now Boo is saying hello to us all from his brand new home, where he is as happy as a clam. Or, you know what? He's as happy as a HAMSTER! Take that, clams!

The verdict? Carrots = yes. Grapes? Not so much :)

Thanks for checking in, dear Boo! We miss you!

From Balthasar to Deuce....

There once was a hamster named Balthasar.
He lived in the house where the hamsters are.
He found a new home
And now he does roam
In the house with Patricia and Spencer are.

Ok, ok, I realize the rhyme scheme is off, but... come on. This one was hard!

Anyway, so Balthazar was adopted last year by a super sweet couple who renamed him "Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo." And as you can see from the photo below, he is QUITE the looker! I hear he's in the running for most Handsome Hamster at the Oscars this weekend :)

Glad to hear you are doing well, Deuce, and thanks for sending the Hamster House a present of carefresh... you're the best!

January Never Happened, ok?

Clearly, since there are no posts on this blog from January, that meant that January never happened....

Mea culpa! I'm sorry! I promise to be a better blogger.

I've had a very annoying two months of internet troubles here at the Hamster House, which I vow to have fixed in the next month. But, it's been keeping me from updating the blog, AND from updating any of the photos of available hamsters on the NYHH site.

If you are looking to adopt, I have about 25 animals (syrians, dwarfs, and gerbils) available, and I hope to get pictures of them up, somewhere, soon. Email me for details!

Coming up... two posts with very cute photos of happily adopted hammies!
