Hamster Extinction in France???

Katie, a friend of the Hamster House, pointed out this interesting article about how a specific kind of hamster (black-bellied hamsters) is going extinct in France, thanks to the habitat loss and modern farming methods. I hope that France can get its act together to save this little guy, but it doesn't sound likely.... sad!
